Burn Permit Information (2005)
safety

The Lehi City Fire Department has received the burning days from Utah County. You will be able to burn from April 01, 2006 to April 30, 2006. These burn days have been set for the purpose of yard clean up only.

We encourage you to clean up any rubbish around your yard and take advantage of getting rid of it with a burn permit. Chief Ekins would like for everyone to take these few precautions to keep citizens safe through out the burn season. If you would like to receive a burn permit for the season you may call the Lehi Fire Department @ 768-7130 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM or you can call Lehi City @ 768-7100. A member of the Fire Department will deliver the permit to your home and discuss any questions or concerns you may have.

:: Open Burning Checklist ::

    Chief Ekins has the following checklist for the citizens of Lehi:

  1. Clippings, bushes, plants, pruning from trees, dry grasses can be burned.
  2. Materials to be burned are to be thoroughly dry.
  3. No burning of manufactured items such as: tires, construction materials, plastics, trash, or rubbish. Oil products cannot be used to start fires or be included in materials to be burned.
  4. Fires are to be completely out by 6:00 pm each day.
  5. Do NOT burn when high or moderate winds are present.
  6. All fires must be constantly attended by someone with a garden hose or other extinguishing materials.
  7. A "safe distance" from other exposures (buildings, fences, sheds, etc.) should be maintained.
  8. You will have to call 374-BURN (2876) to establish that it is a legal burn day from the county.
  9. Tree limbs and piles of clean-up should be of sufficient size to be able to safely burn and be out completely (cold to touch) by 6:00 pm each day.
  10. These guidelines are meant to protect you from liability, and our environment from excessive pollution.
